Debby Elnatan had a brilliant idea, one with a feel-good ripple effect powerful enough to engulf the entire globe.
Elnatan’s young son, Rotem, suffers from cerebral palsy and is confined to a wheelchair. Of course, this music therapist’s one wish is for her son to walk. Just shy of working a miracle, Elnatan did the next best thing — she designed something miraculous.
Introducing “Upsee,” a support harness that allows young and disabled children to stand upright attached to an adult and, in effect, walk.
This Israeli mother launched an international search in order to pinpoint a company to mass produce her design. The company she landed with is Lecky, a manufacturer based in Northern Ireland that has a history of producing equipment to enable special needs children.
Watching these infants stand and experience a simulated walking experience is beyond heartwarming. This is a mother who not only went above and beyond out of love for her son, but broke new and innovative ground for special needs children worldwide.
